The Marquardts
God has called the Marquardts to Myanmar to open a school for orphans (March/ April of 2024), fight trafficking of children, open a new children’s home, build a gym for the school, and educate the children from two children’s homes. Initially, the Marquardts will open Ethne International Academy (EIA), a Christ-centered English medium K-12 school. God has given Nate a vision which initially includes a school with Bible teaching and discipleship, an internationally accredited curriculum, an athletic program (MMA and gymnastics to start), a music program, and an art program. The two children’s homes (Christ Ambassadors and All Nations) have 18 children each.
Myanmar has the longest running civil war (since 1948). Because of this and other cultural, religious, and economical issues, there are many orphans and children at-risk for trafficking. Also, the 36 children in the two homes face religious persecution in their current schools and neighborhoods. The children in the new home live in a very small one room studio. One thing God has put on Nate’s heart is to build dorm rooms, a gymnasium, a kitchen and dining hall on the school property and move the second children’s home there where they can live safely.
The Marquardts envision a Spirit led ministry which cares for and equips children to succeed in this world for God’s glory, The school’s mission is to help fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20) and to exercise the Great Commandments (Matt. 22:37-40) through education, which encourages every student to grow into the person God created them to be, to the glory of Jesus Christ:
• by using the individualized, student-paced ACE curriculum.• by using a wholistic approach to education (mind, body, spirit).• by acknowledging God’s creative design of people in sports, music, art, writing, mathematics, science, and more.• by taking caring for the needs of the orphans.• by teaching the Bible as God’s word.• by focusing on making disciples who will grow to make disciples, as the Lord Jesus did.• by praising the Lord Jesus through daily corporate prayer and worship.
