What We believe
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The Bible
We believe that the Scriptures were given by the inspiration of the Spirit of God, who wrote every word through holy men. This means that the Bible is without error. We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the only absolute truth. The Bible is the only authoritative rule of faith, worship, and Christian obedience. (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21).The Trinity
We believe that there is one God, who is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While each of these is a separate person, they equally share in the one nature and essence of God. This unity is referred to as the Godhead in the Scripture. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 John 5:7; 1 Timothy 3:16; John 1:1-14; Acts 5:1-4; Colossians 2:9; Romans 8:9-11)The father
We believe that God the Father is fully divine and sovereign, reigning over all of creation. He is the source of all life and the rightful ruler of the eternal kingdom. The Father, through the work of the Holy Spirit, draws sinners to believe in His Son. He forgives their sins and adopts them as His children, granting them peace with Him. (Matthew 5:16, 6:5-14, 7:11, 18:35, 24:36, 28:19; John 3:16, 5:22-26, 6:37-40, 6:44; 8:16, 10:27-29; 15:8, 16:23, 17:1-8; Acts 1:7; Romans 5:1, 6:4, 8:15, 8:28-30; 1 Corinthians 8:6, 15:24; Galatians 1:1; Ephesians 1:3-12; 4:6, 32; Philippians 2:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 2:4; Hebrews 12:6-10, 13:15; 1 Peter 1:2, 1:17, 1 John 1:9, 4:14; 2 John 1:4)The Son
We believe that the Word is Christ, the eternal God, through whom all things are made and sustained. We also believe that Christ Jesus is "God manifest in the flesh" (1 Tim. 3:16), born of a virgin and the only begotten of the Father. He lived a sinless and miraculous life, died on a cross to bear the judgment of our sins in His own body, was buried in a nearby tomb, and bodily rose from the grave on the third day, alive, according to the Scriptures. (John 1:1-14; Col. 1:15-17; 1 Tim. 3:16; Heb 1:3; Phil. 2:5-11; Matt. 1:18-20; Heb. 4:15; John 20:30-31; Matt 26-27; 1 Co. 15:1-8; Rev. 1:18; Heb 7:25)The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. We believe that he dwells in the believer at salvation, and that Jesus baptizes the surrendered believer with the Spirit, who then fills the believer, empowering him for service. The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to exalt and glorify Jesus by applying the Gospel to sinners' hearts, convicting them of their sin, giving them new life in Christ, and sealing them until the day of redemption. We believe that the Spirit directs the Church's ministry today and flows through believers into the world. (Acts 5:1-4; Matt. 3:11; Acts 1:5; 2:1-5; 11:16; John 16:7,14; Acts 4:30-31; Rom 8:9-11; Eph 5:18; Acts 1:8; 2:4; 13:2; 16:6; 19:2; 1 Cor 12-14; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezk 36:22-27; John 14:26, 15:26; Acts 7:51, 10:19, 11:12, 15:28, 21:11; Rom 8:16, 8:27, 15:30; 1 Cor 2:10-14, 12:7-11; 2 Cor 3:1-6, 3:17-18, 13:14; Gal 4:4-7; Eph 1:13-14, 4:30; 1 Thess 5:19; Heb 10:29)Man's nature
We believe that man was created male and female, in the image and likeness of his maker, God. God made man a moral agent with the ability to freely exercise his will and choose to submit to God's will. Man's greatest purpose is to love God. However, man chose to disobey God and followed Satan into sin. As a result, man's nature became sinful and this sinful nature is passed on to all of Adam's descendants. Despite still retaining God's image, man took on Satan's nature through sin.
We believe that we are sinners by nature, completely lacking the holiness required by God and inclined to evil. As a result, we do not worship God as He requires according to His holy Law, but instead choose to worship idols and unworthy things. Without God's grace, all people are unable to turn to Him and are justly condemned to eternal punishment, with no defense or excuse.
(Genesis 1:26-27, 3:1–6; Psalm 51:5; Isaiah 64:6; Hosea 6:7; Romans 1:18, 2:14, 3:10-18, 5:12–21, 6:16-17, 8:7-10; John 8:44; 1 Corinthians 15:21–22, 15:45–50; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:18; Titus 3:3)The Mediator
We believe that Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, is the divinely appointed Mediator between God and man. Taking on human nature but without sin, Christ perfectly fulfilled the law, suffered, and died on the cross for the salvation of sinners. He was buried, rose again on the third day, and ascended to His Father, where He now lives to intercede for His people. Jesus is the sole Mediator, the Prophet, Priest, and King of the Church, and the Sovereign of the Universe. (Mt. 3:17; 1 Cor. 15:3-7; 1 Tim. 2:5; Rom. 5:6-11; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb 1:3)Salvation
We believe that salvation is entirely from God, given by grace based on the redemption of Jesus Christ—both His perfect righteousness in life and His atoning blood—not on human merits or works (John 1:12; Romans 5:18–19; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8–10; 1 Peter 1:18–19). Additionally, God chooses and saves individuals from all backgrounds and nations. We are instructed to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and invite everyone to receive salvation, trusting that God will fulfill His will and His Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11; 2 Corinthians 2:12-17; Revelation 5:9-10). We believe that Christians cannot lose their salvation, but we also believe that this does not give them the freedom to live however they choose without facing consequences. We believe that Christians will face consequences for their sins in this life, and in the afterlife, some will experience a loss of rewards at the judgment seat of Christ. They will be judged for the things they have done in their bodies, both good and bad works. Like the Apostle Paul, we take this judgment very seriously and have a deep respect for the fear of the Lord, who is Holy. ( Hebrews 12:6-11; 1 Corinthians 3:11-16; 2 Corinthians 5:9-11) We also believe that there is a clear distinction between a true Christian who stumbles in sin and a professing Christian (an unbeliever) who habitually practices sin. The latter will not inherit the kingdom of heaven (1 Cor 6:9-11; Gal 5:19-21; Eph 5:3-5; Rev 21:8; Rev 22:15).Justification
We believe justification is God's gracious acquittal of a sinner. This acquittal is not based on the individual's inherent merit or good works but is entirely a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. (Rom 3:21-28, 4:5-9, 5:1, 8-10; Gal 2:16-17, 3:11-14; 1 Cor 6:11; Jam 2:23–26; Tit 3:5–7; Luke 7:48–50)Repentance and Faith
We believe that repentance and faith are the correct and necessary responses of sinners to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are inseparable actions of turning away from sin and turning to God through Christ alone for salvation. This response to the Gospel is prompted by the Holy Spirit, who graciously convicts us of our sin, convinces us of our unrighteousness, and reveals that we are hopelessly condemned apart from Christ. (Isaiah 55:6-7; Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3, 15:18-21, 24:46-47; John 1:12, 3:16, 16:8; Acts 2:37-38, 3:19-21, 11:18; 16:30-31, 17:30, 20:21; Romans 2:4, 10:9-11, 17; 2 Corinthians 7:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 6:1, 7:25)Sanctification
We believe that those who have been regenerated are also sanctified by God's Word and Spirit dwelling in them. This sanctification is progressive through the supply of God's strength, which all saints seek to obtain, pressing after a holy life in heartfelt obedience to all of Christ's commands. We believe that separation is commanded in the Scripture; it is God's will that believers separate themselves from the world by denying ungodly lusts, shunning ungodly activities, and pursuing holiness in attitudes and actions. (John 17:17; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 12:14; 2 Co. 6:17; 1 Jo. 2:15; Titus 2:12; Eph 5:3; 2 Co. 7:1)Perseverance
We believe that those whom God has accepted and sanctified by His Spirit will never totally or finally fall away from the state of grace. They shall certainly persevere to the end. Though they may fall through neglect and temptation into sin, thereby grieving the Spirit, impairing their graces and comforts, bringing reproach on the Church, and temporal judgments on themselves, they shall be renewed again unto repentance. They will be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. (Matthew 24:13; John 10:28-29; 1 John 2:19; Romans 8:30; 1 Peter 1:5; Jude 1:1; Revelation 3:11; Hebrews 10:36; James 1:12; 2 Timothy 2:12; Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 12:1-2)The Church
We believe that everyone who puts their faith in Jesus Christ is instantly united by the Holy Spirit into one spiritual Body, known as the church. This church is also referred to as the bride of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12–13; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:23–32; Revelation 19:7–8), with Christ as its Head. (Ephesians 1:22; 4:15; Colossians 1:18)Baptism
Baptism is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus, obligatory for every believer. It involves being immersed in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This act signifies fellowship with the death and resurrection of Christ, forgiveness of sins, and dedication to living a new life for God. While obedience to baptism is necessary, it is not essential for salvation. Baptism publicly identifies a believer as a disciple of Jesus Christ and is meant for believers only. (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:3-5; Acts 2:38, Acts 8:38-39)The Lord's Supper
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is held in remembrance and proclamation of His death until He comes, and should always be preceded by solemn self-examination. We also believe that, while the elements of communion are only representative of the flesh and blood of Christ, participation in the Lord’s Supper is still an actual communion with the risen Christ, who indwells every believer and is present, fellowshipping with His people. Because of our belief in the Bible’s teaching concerning the Church, we believe this memorial service was given especially to His churches, and that it is closed to anyone who is not born again, identified as a disciple of Jesus Christ by biblical baptism, and united with His Church. (1 Corinthians 10:16; 1 Corinthians 11:28-32; Matthew 26:26-29)Resurrection
After death, the bodies of men return to dust, but their spirits immediately return to God - the righteous to rest with Him, and the wicked to be reserved in darkness for judgment. On the last day, the bodies of all the dead, both just and unjust, will be raised. (1 Corinthians 15; John 5:28-29; Philippians 3:21)The Judgement
God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world through Jesus Christ. On that day, everyone will receive according to their deeds. The righteous will enter everlasting life, experiencing the fullness of joy and glory with eternal rewards in the presence of the Lord. However, the wicked, those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, will be cast aside into everlasting torments. They will be punished with eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power. (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Mt 25:31-46; Acts 17:30-31; 1 Cor. 15:50-58; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Tim 4:8; Mk 9:48; 2 Thess 1:7-10; Rev 20:15)
