Jaska describes his transition from being raised as a Hindu in Nepal, to becoming a born-again Christian through God’s intervention. Jaska's introduction and relationship with God is a very personal one, and it is a sacred thing he does not treat lightly. The title of his book speaks to his convictions in separating oneself from this world and from any kind of lukewarm approach towards God, His Word, and one’s faith. Jaska tells a story of his experiences living in Nepal, Australia, and the U.S., and he examines the cultural and spiritual attitudes towards God and Christianity. His experiences meeting fellow Christians and pastors challenges him to revisit what the biblical foundations of being a believer are. Topics such as repentance, obedience, evangelism, meditation on the Word, and holiness are not just recommendations, but commands from God that are to be daily ingrained into one’s life. Jaska challenges Christians to commit and live by these commandments, both in the pew and in the home.
